Refugees need our help. Now.
Refugee - one that flees; especially : a person who flees to a foreign country or power to escape danger or persecution (Merriam-Webster).
The gut-wrenching, heart-breaking state of numerous Syrian refugees is currently plastered on the front page of the news both for the atrocities that are occurring and the reluctance of the United States government to play a role in their refuge and recovery. There are countless stories of tragedy. But they have wills of steel and, thankfully, there are many countries, organizations, and individuals willing to help. This section provides resources both for those seeking help and for those seeking to assist. It will provide information regarding refugees from around the world, seeking asylum from corrupt governments, oppression, or simply the freedom to live freely. It will highlight personal stories, empathize with their plight, and explore possible solutions.
